Our Program
Our early childhood program has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized national, voluntary, professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools.
We believe that children come to St. John Preschool with the ability and desire to learn and grow. Each child naturally develops intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally through everyday activities and play.
At our center we offer a half day or a full day program that includes a morning snack, hot lunch and afternoon snack. During the morning program your child will be involved in circle time, activity time, outdoor play, cooking projects, dramatic play, block building and social interactions. Our full day students nap after lunch and continue with activities during the afternoon hours.
The curriculum incorporated at our center is a developmentally appropriate and center based. Each child is given a safe and nurturing environment to grow and learn according to his or her individual ability.
Our program is designed to challenge each area of a child's development, including physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Children's play is a primary vehicle for and indicator of their growth. Child initiated, teacher supported play is an essential component of a developmentally appropriate classroom.
St. John Preschool wants to be a partner with you in your child's life. Our role as your partner is to provide a safe and stimulating environment, staffed with trained and caring individuals, implementing a program based on current and effective child care and educational practices.
St. John Preschool is open Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Children enrolled in our full day program receive a morning snack, hot lunch and afternoon snack. Our half day program is available 9:00 A.M. to 12:30 noon. Children attending our half day program receive a morning snack and hot lunch.
